Bhutan Pawo Glimpsis

Day 01: Welcome to the land of Thunder Dragon, Bhutan.
You will be landing at the Paro international airport, where you can see the spectacular glimpse of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, including Bhutan’s famous sacred Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. The landing in paro through multi range of mountain could be one of the breathtaking experiences, making it a perfect start of your journey.
The moment you land at Paro international airport, you will be traditionally welcome by our Samden Lhundrup guide and drive to Bhutan’s capital city Thimphu. The drive will take one hour. In between the drive there will be a brief stopover at the two river meet point (chuzom), where the precise view is quite worth having a short moment. Again after a couple minutes of drive you will enter the beautiful capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu. In Thimphu, we will start with visit to the memorial chorten (stupa), one of the Bhutan’s most beautiful stupas build in memory of Our Third King Jigme Dorji Wanchuk who is famously known as “The Father of Modern Bhutan”. Later we will be stopping in the heart of the town, where you can see the typical architecture design in modern building and art of living of Bhutanese (people of Bhutan).

Day 02: Drive to Dochula Pass (3100m)
After breakfast from the hotel, we will visit Dochula Pass which is 45 minutes drive. In Dochula Pass there is 108 memorial chorten or stupas known as Druk Wangyel making a place delighted to stay for a while. The place becomes more pretty for the tourist when the eye catches one of the beautiful sights of the eastern Himalayan snow-capped ranges (6000m-7554m).
After a few hours of stay at Dochula Pass, we will drive back to Thimphu and have lunch. Later after lunch, we will start our tour with the visit of Buddha point (51.5m, 169ft) of great Buddha dordenma( gigantic shakyamuni Buddha) build on the mountain. It is one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world. The throne that the Buddha sits upon is a large meditation hall. From the Buddha points you get to see the fascinating view of thimphu city. Next we will visit changangkha monastery, which was build on 12 century making it one of the oldest temple in thimphu. The site was chosen by lama phajo Drukgom shigpo, who came from ralung in Tibet. Parents come here to get auspicious names for the newly born child and also to get the blessing.
If time permits you can witness the national games of Bhutan “the archery”.

Day 03: The great Paro fortress and the valley
It will be a leisure one hour drive back to paro. After reaching paro the first sight will be a very historical place, the Paro Rimpong Dzong (Forteress on a heap of jewels), followed by the Ta Dzong (a watch tower) and today it’s the country national museum. Later the visit will be kyichu temple, which is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan built in 7th century by the Tibetan king Songtsen gempo.
The lunch will be at local restaurant at paro town. After a lunch we will have a leisurely walk around the town and you will get enough of time to see around town and do shopping if time permits.

Day 04: Taksang (the tigress nest/lair)
Taksang is one of the high lights of our country and believe as a very sacred/holy place. The most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries is spectacularly perched on the side of the cliff 900m above the paro valley floor. Taksang is a pilgrimage which Bhutanese try to visit at least once in a lifetime. It is said that in the 8th century Guru Rinpoche flew on the back of a tigress from eastern Bhutan to this place on 746AD and meditated in a cave here for 3 months, hence it’s named ‘tigress Nest’.
After an early breakfast we will start our journey, where drive will be for half an hour to reach the tigress nest base point. From the base start point to reach up and to get back to base point it will take 5 hours. It’s believed that any person who has visited Taksang is fascinated with the amazing architecture design and unique sight to see. When you reach base, it’s optional to experience the hot stone bath.
Day 05: Departure from paro
After the breakfast our samden lhundrup tour and travel guide will escort you to the paro international airport.
